Kanchenjunga Region lies in east part of Nepal with Sikkim on the border. Its one of the first explored area yet remains one of the least visited. The third highest mountain in the world "Kanchenjunga (8,586 m)" is the main attraction of this region. This region is also rich in Rhododendron forest and home to snow leopard where you can witness them closely.
Even though the eastern part is much developed then any area in Nepal , population at the himalya is geographically uneven making the rural area much challenging for adventure. The people here are very friendy where you will find them on the way and accompany with them making the journey more intresting. Many of local also offer hot tongba, a heart-warming drink made from fermented millet.
Trekking in Kanchenjunga region can be done either from south base camp or north base camp which are two main gateway to pass through. Discover the wilderness of this region that takes around 20 days which worth exploring once in life.
